Haier (Beijing) IC Design Co. Ltd. Chooses Diamond 10 From Credence as Most Cost-Effective Mixed-Signal Test Solution

SHANGHAI, CHINA--(Marketwire - March 18, 2008) - SEMICON CHINA -- Credence Systems Corporation (NASDAQ: CMOS), a provider of test solutions for the worldwide consumer semiconductor industry, announced today that Haier (Beijing) IC Design Company Ltd. (Haier (BJ) IC) has awarded Credence its production test business based on the ability of the Diamond 10™ (D10) to deliver the best cost of test for the company's consumer-geared IC device products.

Haier (BJ) IC is an advanced technology design house headquartered in Beijing addressing the growing demand for cost-effective ICs with increased functionality and performance. Its talented and proficient design teams use a top-down design process based on rigorous international standards. Facing stiff competition, the management team challenged its designers to improve production costs.

Mr. Yang Yan Chun, Vice General Manager of Haier (BJ) IC, said, "After careful review and consideration of our ATE options, it was clear to us that the D10 from Credence was a very cost-effective test platform for our products. We are now driving D10 systems with our subcontractors and partners for mass production, and we are very pleased with the economic efficiencies we have been able to achieve."

The Diamond 10 platform was designed to offer the best value in testing very cost-sensitive mainstream consumer IC devices such as microcontrollers, display controllers, and general purpose ASICs used in popular consumer electronic products.

Haier (BJ) IC uses the D10 for IC devices such as digital audio and video decoders for digital TV. The ten-slot Diamond architecture can be configured with a range of test instruments to maximize its capabilities. With the Mixed-Signal Analog Waveform Generator (AWG), the Mixed-Signal Digitizer (DIG), 96-digital channel DD1096 instrument, and DPS16 multi-channel power supply, Haier (BJ) IC can achieve cost-efficient, accurate multi-site testing for mixed-signal devices.

"We are pleased to help Haier (BJ) IC achieve its goals of cost reduction in a production environment," said Amir Aghdaei, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations and Marketing. "The D10, with its small footprint, low power consumption, and wide range of cost-optimized instrumentation provides our customers with the best value based on technology fit, business fit, ease of use and cost of use. This is the standard to which we drive all of our consumer ATE solutions."
