Hamilton Health Coalition-Media Advisory-Hamiltonians to Rally Tomorrow to Stop Hospital Cuts

Liberal MPPs the target of community opposition to McGuinty health crisis

HAMILTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 17, 2009) - Hamiltonians will rally their opposition to the McGuinty government's hospital cuts tomorrow, Saturday, April 18.

WHAT: Rally against Hamilton hospital crisis

WHO: Organized by the Hamilton Health Coalition

WHERE: Outside Hamilton Mountain MPP Sophia Aggelonitis' office
952 Concession Street (at the corner of Upper Gage)

WHEN: Saturday, April 18, 11:00 AM

Health services in Hamilton are under attack as a wave of service cuts hits hospitals across Ontario. This year, more than 70 per cent of hospitals will face deficits due to chronic underfunding by the McGuinty government. Many health services and programs at Hamilton hospitals have been cut as a result.

The rally, organized by the Hamilton Health Coalition, will mobilize Hamilton residents to send local Liberal MPPs a clear message: "Stop the hospital cuts!"
