Hamilton Thorne Releases Easy to Use and Cost-Effective Remote Capture CASA System

BEVERLY, MA and TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - Jan 5, 2015) -  Hamilton Thorne Ltd. (TSX VENTURE: HTL), a leading provider of precision laser devices and advanced image analysis systems for the fertility, stem cell and developmental biology research markets, today announced the commercial release of its easy to use and cost-effective Remote Capture station for its industry-leading Computer Assisted Sperm Analysis (CASA) systems.

The Remote Capture station is a standalone video capture system that allows fertility clinics to expand services offered in their satellite laboratories. The system enables remote laboratories to save sperm motility videos for analysis and custom report creation on an IVOS II or CEROS II analyzer at their central facility. Patient identification, system settings and sample information are saved along with the video for tracking and quality control. Once captured, videos are easily transmitted via physical media, over the clinic's own network or over the Internet using email or through cloud-based file transfer services.

"We created the Remote Capture capability in direct response to customer requests for convenient, lower-cost sperm analysis solutions geared towards multi-site clinics," commented David Wolf, President and CEO of Hamilton Thorne. "With our intuitive software featuring proprietary interactive illumination controls and immediate video feedback, clinics will feel confident in the ability of their satellite laboratories to capture the highest quality video images for sperm analysis."

A complete remote capture station includes software, high resolution digital camera and PC, and is offered with or without microscope. Additional information may be found at http://www.hamiltonthorne.com/index.php/products/clinical-casa-products/remote-capture-station.
