Hands-Free Law Goes Into Effect in California and Washington

Consumers to Win Cash and Hands-Free Car Kits to Comply With Law

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - July 1, 2008) - Today laws go into effect in California and Washington, requiring these states' 28 million licensed drivers to use a hands-free device while speaking on their phones and driving. Parrot Inc., the world's leading manufacturer of hands-free car kits, is giving away free car kits to help consumers comply with the law and awarding a $10,000 sweepstakes prize or a free vacation to Turks and Caicos to one lucky winner in order to help get the word out.

Participants can play Parrot's Instant Win Game every day until August 9, 2008 for a chance to win either a portable Parrot MINIKIT or a Parrot 3200 LS-Color car kit with free installation for crystal clear conversations directly on your car's speakers.

Parrot Inc. recently launched a humorous campaign asking consumers to vote for the "Positive Parrot" to become the official State Bird of California, in order to help build awareness of the various Bluetooth® hands-free options available and encourage compliance with the hands-free laws.

Consumers who visit www.parrotnotquail.com and sign the petition to Californian Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to replace the California Valley Quail, with the Positive Parrot will be automatically entered into a sweepstakes to win $10,000 or a trip to the exotic Parrot Cay (in Turks and Caicos).

At www.parrotnotquail.com site visitors will also find games, social media, fun videos, and tips for distraction-free driving. Visitors can also review a range of hands-free options and learn more about the benefits of using a hands-free mobile phone device while driving.

"Consumers have many options as they look to comply with the hands-free legislation beyond basic headsets. Car kits, both the portable and the installed variety like those from Parrot, provide superior audio quality, comfort and freedom while driving," said David Wenning, senior vice president for Parrot.

Parrot offers several hands-free options, including portable car kits, installed car kits and a motorcycle helmet kit to allow drivers to comply with the new cell phone laws. More information and educational resources are available here: http://www.parrotsafedriving.com
