Hands High Software Releases WiFile Pro 2.0 for Palm OS Handheld Computers and Smartphones

Updated Software Provides Increased Access to Networked Computers

EAST PALO ALTO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 18, 2005 -- Hands High Software, Inc. announced the release of WiFile Pro™ for Palm Powered™ handhelds and smartphones. WiFile Pro enables Palm OS® handheld computer users to view, copy, and manage files on networked computers. With WiFile Pro and a Palm Powered device that is connected to a network, users can open and transfer applications, databases, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, MP3 music files, digital photos, and more, all located on their personal computers, corporate servers, school computers, or the Internet.

WiFile Pro is an upgrade to Hands High's WiFile software. New features include an easier to use interface, new file management capabilities, expanded support for plug-in memory cards, and support for new network protocols, including FTP and WebDAV. WiFile Pro is the first handheld software product to support the WebDAV protocol, an emerging standard for providing secure file transfer over the Internet.

Beta tester Ray Heath Jr., an operations analyst, said, "The one tap access to my networked computers is great. While in a meeting with my boss, I can transfer a proposal from the computer in my office to the network so he can see it, and I don't even have to get up." Claude Van Horn, a customer support specialist, uses WiFile Pro at home. "With WiFile Pro, I can be anywhere in the house and play songs or download ebooks that are on my home computer."

WiFile Pro includes specific support for palmOne, Inc.'s new LifeDrive™ mobile manager, announced today. "We worked closely with palmOne during the development of the LifeDrive," said Shannon Pekary, President of Hands High Software. "The collaboration was a big win for users. WiFile's interface will be familiar to users, and was heavily influenced by the palmOne Files application. Also, palmOne engineers listened and responded to our needs, resulting in a robust device that takes advantage of networking capabilities."

Designed for people with a significant volume of digital information, the LifeDrive mobile manager is a new, category-defining product that allows owners to carry and use work and personal digital content, as well as control and manage priorities, anywhere, anytime. The new LifeDrive mobile manager includes a trimmed-down version of WiFile on the installation CD.

WiFile Pro supports Windows Networking (also known as SMB/CIFS), FTP and WebDAV networking protocols. It can connect to Windows, Mac OS X, Unix and Netware computers. Since WiFile Pro speaks native networking languages, often there is no additional setup required on the server computers.

While WiFilePro will work with any network connected Palm Powered device, most users will connect to a local network wirelessly using either a WiFi (802.11) enabled device, a Bluetooth enabled device, or a Palm OS enabled smartphone.

WiFile Pro is available now for $29.95 from the Hands High Software Web site at www.handshigh.com.
