Handtevy Partners with ESO Solutions to Provide Seamless Access to Customized Pediatric Dosing Information

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL--(Marketwired - November 17, 2016) - Pediatric Emergency Standards Inc., creator of the Handtevy pediatric dosing system, announced a partnership with ESO Solutions today, enabling rapid access to critical dosing information and the ability to seamlessly integrate data directly into the patient's medical record.

Of the many challenges pre-hospital providers face during the treatment of sick and injured children, the ability to calculate and document complex medication and equipment information rapidly are two of the most difficult. With this demand in mind, Handtevy and ESO joined forces by integrating their respective systems for mutual customers.

This partnership eliminates the need to toggle between two interfaces, allowing field providers to prioritize their care. Mutual customers will have access to crucial dosing information, customized to their agency's protocols, directly through the ESO electronic health record (EHR) user interface. This will enable field providers to access life-saving dosages on scene confidently and then rapidly transfer time-sensitive data directly into the ESO EHR. Documentation lag-time will be eliminated and time-sensitive information will be housed in one system.

Traditionally, field providers are not only charged with addressing life-threatening situations, but they also have the responsibility of capturing information in a variety of places to make sure the patient record is complete. This integration will allow providers to focus on the patient, with the knowledge that the dosing information will import directly to their EHR from Handtevy's cloud-based platform. This streamlined data process is the first-of-its-kind in pediatric emergency care, providing real-time verification with simultaneous documentation capabilities.

"This is the first time in our field that medical personnel treating pediatric patients will have access like this," said Chris Dillie, ESO President and CEO. "Real-time, customized access to dosing that imports directly into the patient records via ESO EHR is truly 'disruptive' technology."

"Our goal is to ensure that field providers providing care to sick and injured children can focus on the most important thing -- the patient," said Dr. Peter Antevy, Pediatric Emergency Standards Founder and CMO. "We are working diligently with companies like ESO to allow pre-hospital providers to perform at the highest level, while also capturing necessary information across both systems. We've removed all of the mathematical complexities and have simplified documentation so that pre-hospital professionals can focus on what they do best."

The Handtevy System, now in 38 states, is the first-of-its-kind, hybrid age and length-based pediatric dosing system that eliminates medication calculations, increases medication administration accuracy, and allows for emergency care delivered on scene. Customers include Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Lines, Cleveland Clinic, New Orleans EMS, DC Fire & EMS, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, Denver Health, PHI Air Medical and others.
