Hanley Wood Acquires the TFM Show and Announces Plans for Co-Location With CONSTRUCT2009 and the CSI Annual Convention

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - May 1, 2008) - Hanley Wood, LLC announced today that it completed the acquisition of The TFM Show, the nation's premier forum for senior facility management executives, from Group C Communications, Inc. As the leading business-to-business media company serving the residential and commercial construction industries, Hanley Wood is uniquely positioned to continue the strong history of The TFM Show and solidify its role in the executive facility operations industry. This acquisition followed the successful operation of the 2008 TFM Show, which was held April 22 - 24 at Navy Pier in Chicago.

Galen Poss, President of Hanley Wood Exhibitions, commented, "We are excited to add this event to our portfolio. As we continue to expand our reach to facility managers, it's a logical fit and blends well with our CONSTRUCT event, its audience and extensive educational offerings."

Ted Coene, co-president of Group C, said, "While the divestiture of an asset such as The TFM Show is never an easy decision, we feel that in the long run this move will prove beneficial to the event's attendees and exhibitors. The facility managers who attend The TFM Show will now have the opportunity to network with architects, engineers, specifiers, and general contractors at CONSTRUCT, and our exhibitors will gain access to a wider audience that is responsible for the entire life cycle of the building environment -- from design and construction to maintenance and operations."

Beginning in 2009, The TFM Show will co-locate with CONSTRUCT2009, scheduled for June 17-19, 2009 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

Tom Cindric, Director of CONSTRUCT, remarked, "We surveyed current TFM Show attendees and exhibitors about a co-location and the positive results supported our decision to move forward with the acquisition."

Walt Marlowe, Executive Director and CEO of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), a leading trade association and sponsor of CONSTRUCT, noted that "previous co-locations with CONSTRUCT (formerly the CSI Show) and The TFM Show have proven successful and provided attendees and exhibitors the opportunity to fulfill similar business goals in one location."

The acquisition was well received by The TFM Show's participants. Jeff Crane, a senior property manager with Childress Klein Properties and attendee since 2001, said, "I'm really excited about the change. The marriage between CONSTRUCT and The TFM Show will allow me to network with other facility management professionals from different parts of the country and various industries."

Rob Zivney, Vice President of Marketing for Hirsch Electronics and a long-time exhibitor, said, "The TFM Show has always attracted high quality attendees and the combination of these two events should generate a large audience that will provide a great return for exhibitors."

CONSTRUCT2008 will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center, June 4 - 6, 2008, and in conjunction with the CSI Annual Convention. This event will bring together thousands of architects, engineers, specifiers, facility managers, general contractors and industry professionals to take advantage of 101 certified educational sessions, over 350 exhibiting companies showing the latest products, services and technology, as well as special events for members and non-members of CSI, which is dedicated to creating standards and formats to improve construction documents and project delivery.
