Hanley Wood Names New Group Publisher to Consumer Group

WASHINGTON, DC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 31, 2005 -- Hanley Wood Magazines Division has appointed Russ Ellis Group Publisher, Consumer Group. Based in Washington, Hanley Wood Magazines Consumer Group publishes Special Interest Publications, house plans magazines and books.

Ellis comes to Hanley Wood from Primedia where he was most recently group publisher in the Home Technology and Photography division which included Petersen Photographic, Shutterbug and e Digital Photo magazines. Under his leadership, the division grew market share more than 50% while competing in a 10-book field. Ellis also developed and executed a sales strategy to include cross magazine and cross platform selling and added new revenue streams from SIPs, custom publishing, events and Web sites.

His prior publishing experience includes 10 years at Meredith Corporation. He has also managed a national Internet sales organization and began his career in advertising at McCann Erickson in New York City.
