Hanley Wood's Site Commander Wins Min Integrated Marketing Award

WASHINGTON, DC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 20, 2005 -- Hanley Wood's Site Commander, a mobile marketing program, won Min's Integrated Marketing Award for best B-to-B Event Program.

The 2004 Site Commander national tour and sweepstakes was a sponsor-based promotional campaign to introduce a highly customized ultimate work truck to millions of construction contractors. The program consisted of regular editorial coverage, monthly print-ad exposure in five magazines, dedicated Web site, national tour to jobsites and tool stores in 40 cities, and trade show appearances. The 2004 Site Commander tour culminated in a sweepstakes drawing for the $94,000 truck and tools in December 2004.

"We were truly honored to win Min's Integrated Marketing Award," said Rick Schwolsky, editor of Tools of the Trade. "In every respect, the Site Commander is the definition of integration and is the reason behind our success."

The Site Commander Tour was a fully integrated marketing program that leveraged all of Hanley Wood's divisions to generate more than 14 million impressions from print, in-person events and online responses. The Site Commander sponsors included Ford Trucks, Hilti Corp., Reading Truck Body and ARE Truck Caps. This team, assembled by the publisher and editor of Tools of the Trade magazine created the concept and managed the build-out of The Site Commander, designed to meet the ultimate needs and dreams of professional contractors. Design features were editorially driven to both deliver a product credible with contractors and allow sponsors to demonstrate new products and product features in a hands-on setting during appearances. Features, equipment and tools selected for The Site Commander were required to save time, increase productivity, improve quality or enhance safety and health.

"We wanted to create and own a new channel to connect builders and manufacturers in new ways and new locations," said Nellie Callahan, associate publisher, Tools of the Trade. "The Site Commander is the perfect program to achieve that goal."

Min's Integrated Marketing Awards honor consumer and B-to-B magazine campaigns, ongoing programs and innovative people who have raised the bar on magazine marketing programs.

Finalists in the event program include: PARADE Magazine, Self Magazine, WIRED Magazine, Primedia, Inc., Reader's Digest, and Tradeshow Week.
