Hansa Mobilizes Drill Rig to the Tetelo-Mavoio Copper Project in Angola

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 14, 2008) - HANSA RESOURCES LIMITED ("Hansa") (TSX VENTURE:HRL)(FRANKFURT:3F2). Mr. John Nugent, President, announces that the Company has mobilized a diamond drill rig to the Tetelo-Mavoio copper project in Northern Angola.

The Company signed a Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") on April 18th, 2008 with Angolans Petroleum Services S.A.R.L. ("APServices") to acquire 70% of the 9,685 square kilometre Mavoio-Tetelo-Bembe exploration claim in the Uige Province of Northern Angola. The claim is elongate in a NNE-SSW trend between the "Maquela do Zombo" and "Bembe" villages near the border between Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Hansa is in the final stages of completing due diligence on the Tetelo-Mavoio copper project as provided under the MOU. The Company has now acquired and compiled relevant historical geological, drilling, mining and geophysical data for the project. Mr. Geoffrey Reed of Reed Leyton Consulting Ltd., Edinburgh, has been selected by Hansa as the independent qualified person for the Tetelo-Mavoio copper project. Mr. Reed recently completed a site visit with Hansa's Chief Geologist Pedro Carvalho, to inspect the evidence of historic exploration and mining activity and begin preparation of the first NI43-101 compliant technical report for the project.

During the due diligence diamond drill program, Hansa plans to twin two historic holes, M-73 and M-77, in the northern part of the Tetelo deposit. Some of the more significant intersections encountered in these historic holes include:

- M-73: 15.6m @ 0.8% Cu from 181.4m
5.5m @ 0.9% Cu from 213.5m
21.1m @ 0.9% Cu from 276.7m
7.2m @ 13.8% from 316.1m
19.6m @ 8.2% Cu from 327m
- M-77: 4.2m @1.0% Cu from 146.5m
4.3m @ 0.9% Cu from 190.1m
2.5m @ 3.9% Cu from 261.4m
20.4m @ 2.2% Cu from 269.9m
5.0m @ 1.8% from 320.6m

The Company also announces that its new website and URL, www.hansaresources.com, has now gone live. A technical presentation on the Tetelo-Mavoio copper project is now available for download from the new website.

The qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101 is Pedro Carvalho, Chief Geologist, Africa, for Hansa Resources and a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. Mr. Carvalho has reviewed and verified the contents of this release.
