Hansberger Growth Investors Joins Madison

MADISON, WI--(Marketwired - Jul 31, 2014) - Madison Asset Management (Madison), parent to Madison Investment Advisors, and the international growth equity team of Hansberger Global Investors, Inc. (Hansberger) completed the formation of Hansberger Growth Investors, L.P. (HGI). The Toronto-based HGI team is retaining its investment autonomy and has gained an equity stake in its new business.

The international growth team, led by HGI Chief Investment Officer Tom Tibbles, has been working together since 1996 with a focus on growth-oriented international, global and emerging market equity mandates. Clients include foundations, endowments, corporations and public funds. Prior to the transaction, the international growth team worked at Hansberger, a wholly owned subsidiary of Natixis Global Asset Management. HGI operates as a separately registered affiliate of Madison.

"A key attraction to partnering with Madison is its history of independence, both in terms of business metrics and thinking," noted Hansberger international growth's Chief Investment Officer Tom Tibbles. "We're very much looking forward to this next chapter for our team, where we can concentrate on our investment strategy, gain a direct ownership interest in our business and utilize the operational and distribution support of Madison."
