Harbor Light Hospice Selects OnePoint Patient Care to Provide Pharmacy Benefits Management Services for Its Hospice Patients

Creation of Fully Customizable, Captive PBM Platform for Hospices Continues to Contribute to OnePoint's Nationwide Growth

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Mar 6, 2012) - OnePoint Patient Care, an independent hospice pharmacy services provider, announced today that Harbor Light Hospice, Hospice Care of the Northwest and Hospice Community Care of Virginia have selected OnePoint as their exclusive provider of Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) services for 1,000 patients in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Oregon, and Virginia. Under the agreement, OnePoint will provide these organizations its Clinical Management Solutions services, OnePoint's fully customizable Pharmacy Benefits Management platform that includes a hospice-determined formulary, management and enforcement of hospice-specific compliance policies, and customized reporting capabilities.

"The level of customization OnePoint provides and its focus on the needs of the hospice, rather than the needs of the PBM, really set it apart from other hospice PBMs," said Greg Thome, acting chief executive officer of Harbor Light Hospice. "By enabling us to create our own formulary and compliance rules and produce customized reports, OnePoint helps us provide superior care to our patients while effectively managing costs and enhancing our administrative efficiency."

OnePoint's Clinical Management Solutions PBM platform allows hospices to develop and utilize their own custom formulary, uniquely define the rules to determine formulary adherence, and customize administrative, clinical and financial reports. This ensures easier management of changes to hospices' formularies and timely new customer implementations when a hospice wants and needs them -- rather than on a schedule dictated by outside parties.

"In our many years of providing hospice pharmacy services, we have repeatedly heard from our hospice partners that they need a better and more customized way to manage their pharmacy benefits," said Jeffrey S. Hohl, OnePoint Patient Care's President and Chief Operating Officer. "We believe hospices should use their formulary based on their patient care philosophy -- not one determined by their PBM -- and that they should define the rules. With our Clinical Management Solutions PBM platform, they can do just that, and they also get informed clinical advice and customizable reporting capabilities as well."

OnePoint has been filling prescriptions, creating custom compounds and delivering medications to hospices for more than 25 years and just last month announced the nationwide expansion of these services through its Hospice Pharmacy Centers of Excellence™. With this recent expansion of its dispensing services and the release of its Clinical Management Solutions PBM platform, OnePoint has experienced significant growth. It now serves more than 125 hospice programs nationwide. Taken in the aggregate across all service platforms, OnePoint Patient Care now proudly serves over 20,000 patients per day.

"We are very pleased to begin serving Harbor Light Hospice by helping them implement a PBM system that meets their unique needs," said James A. Otterbeck, chairman and chief executive officer of OnePoint Patient Care. "We have worked very hard to develop models for dispensing and delivering medications and managing pharmacy benefits that truly meet the specific needs of hospices, and we are gratified to be welcoming many new hospice partners in response."
