Hargray Communications Announces Expansion Into Statesboro and Hinesville

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC--(Marketwired - July 15, 2014) - Hargray Communications announced today an expansion into two new markets in Georgia: Statesboro and Hinesville. As part of the expansion, Hargray will invest the capital and resources necessary to install more than 100 miles of fiber network to and within the cities.

The company will initially focus on providing businesses in both cities with "last-mile-fiber" to deliver high-speed Internet, data, voice, video and a portfolio of advanced commercial products.

"We are pleased to make this expansion a reality," Vice President of Operations Chris McCorkendale said. "Leaders from Statesboro, Hinesville and their respective counties have helped facilitate our entry into these cities, and we look forward to becoming valued and contributing members of the communities as we provide businesses with a new alternative in advanced data and communications services."

Construction and installation of the fiber network connecting Statesboro and Hinesville to Hargray's existing network is already underway, and officials expect to have the network completed by the end of this year.

"We are acquiring commercial space in both Statesboro and Hinesville, and are in the process of staffing both locations," McCorkendale said.

Businesses in these communities can contact Hargray to learn more about its product offerings by visiting, calling 843-706-1800 or emailing
