Harrah's Entertainment Introduces Interactive Microsoft Surface Applications at the Xhibition Bar in Harrah's Resort Atlantic City

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - August 12, 2009) - A subsidiary of Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. unveiled Microsoft Surface™ in the Xhibition Bar at Harrah's Resort Atlantic City, complete with a set of customized applications built by Harrah's. The seven units deployed in Xhibition Bar are in addition to the 6 units deployed last year by Harrah's at the iBar in the Rio All Suites Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

Harrah's was the first company to deploy a suite of customized applications for Microsoft Surface and to install the tables in entertainment venues, providing guests with uniquely personalized and engaging social experiences.

Microsoft Surface is an innovative computing platform that responds to touch, natural hand gestures and real-world objects placed on the display, providing effortless interaction with information and digital content in a simple and intuitive way. With a large, 360-degree, horizontal user interface, it offers a unique gathering place where multiple users can collaboratively and simultaneously interact with content and each other. Microsoft Surface provides Harrah's guests with an unprecedented social experience that infuses the best of technology with the best of Atlantic City nightlife.

Harrah's has created an innovative suite of custom applications to provide guests with hip new ways to create their very own ultimate entertainment experience in an ultra-lounge venue leveraging the unique interaction that Microsoft Surface enables.

--  Hip-notic is a video application that allows guests to view the latest
    and most popular online videos.
    
--  Groups and individuals can play High Roller, a play-for-fun bowling
    game, and Last Call, a musical memory game. Leaderboards add excitement as
    guests compete with one another across Las Vegas and Atlantic City to see
    who can climb to the top of the scoreboard.
    

In addition to Harrah's unique applications, the units also feature a photo application and a virtual concierge application developed by Microsoft that Harrah's customized for Atlantic City.

--  In See and Be Scene, guests can view photos featuring Harrah's Resort
    Nightlife and celebrity sightings at Harrah's hot-spots like Xhibition Bar
    and The Pool without leaving their seat at the Xhibition Bar.
    
--  Virtual AC provides a virtual tour of Atlantic City on Surface,
    letting their fingers be the guide. Guests will be able to get information
    on the latest events and attractions at Caesars, Bally's, Harrah's and
    Showboat.
    

Guests have launched over 500 applications on the seven Microsoft Surface units in the Xhibition Bar everyday. High Roller, the most popular application, is played over 13 hours each day and guests spend nine hours each day watching online videos on Hip-notic.
