Harrington Hoists, Inc. Begins Manufacturing the SHB Ultra-Low Headroom Trolley Hoist in Manheim, PA; WVSN Reports

MANHEIM, PA--(Marketwired - March 16, 2016) -  Industry Visions Industrial News visited Harrington Hoists, Inc. in Manheim, PA to talk about the shift in the location of the manufacturing of their SHB Ultra Low Headroom trolley hoist. This product previously was manufactured by Harrington's parent Company KITO CORPORATION of Japan. The move in manufacturing of the SHB Hoist to Manheim and Elizabethtown, PA and is another part of KITO's global initiative to decentralize manufacturing which will increase production and distribution of the company's products to all KITO group companies. During a plant tour, Harrington's VP of Business Development, Bret Lussow and Ken Woidill, Director of Operations answered questions for WVSN Reports.

"Harrington builds the finest industrial lifting solutions for industries around the world, and we are very proud to announce the SHB Ultra Low Headroom trolley hoist has come home for manufacturing right here in Manheim and Elizabethtown, PA. The SHB is Harrington's industrial grade hand chain hoist and geared trolley configuration that minimizes beam-to-hook distance; that makes this product ideal for applications where short headroom is critical. The SHB is ideal for paper mills, waste water treatment plants and oil fields and it is NAFTA compliant," said Lussow.

Ken Woidill pointed to parts arranged in various bins at the assembly station where the welding of SHB components were underway. "There is a great benefit to bringing manufacturing back to the U.S. We outsource these components to be manufactured by local vendors; that means faster turnaround in getting the product to our customers."

After the initial assembly of the SHB at the Manheim Plant, we traveled to the Elizabethtown facility where Chad Stehman, Lead Engineer, completed the local journey of the SHB before being shipped to customers.

"This is where the SHB begins its final assembly before it goes out the door. The parts arrive here painted and ready for final assembly. The last step is the load test where we test each unit to 125% of rated capacity. The SHB is a very complex machine designed for years of reliable use. It gives all of us a feeling of pride to deliver a hoist that is truly spectacular," concluded Stehman.

Harrington Hoists, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of the KITO CORPORATION of Japan with locations in Manheim, PA, Elizabethtown, PA, Corona, CA and South Holland, IL. Harrington Hoists, Inc. also markets hoist products in South America under the KITO Brand.
