Harte-Hanks Supports Soldiers' Ride for United Kingdom Heroes Charities

Returning Soldiers to Bike 1,800 Miles in 18 Days to Support Help for Heroes and Colonel's Fund Charities

SAN ANTONIO, TX--(Marketwire - August 11, 2008) - Harte-Hanks, Inc. (NYSE: HHS) announced its support of Cycling for Soldiers, a non-profit organization established by Captain James Harrison, son of Harte-Hanks United Kingdom-based employee, Sheila Harrison. Captain Harrison, along with fellow Grenadier Guardsman Captain Andrew Tiernan are seeking to raise money and support for soldiers in the Grenadier Guards and wider Armed Forces though Help for Heroes and the Colonel's Fund. Captains Harrison and Tiernan, who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, are bicycling 1,800 miles in 18 days from Vancouver, British Columbia to San Diego, California. They intend to ride 100 miles daily to complete their 18-day trek, with the goal of raising £20,000 ($38,800). Donations can be made at the Cycling for Soldiers Website at http://www.cyclingforsoldiers.com.

After months of serving in the Middle East and withstanding blistering assaults and attacks, these English soldiers will brave the challenging Pacific coast terrain to help support military personnel in the Grenadier Guards as well as families of those who have died in combat. The team of riders embarked on Sunday, August 10, 2008 from Vancouver and will ride along the United States Pacific Coast through Washington, Oregon and California, arriving in San Diego.

Following his tour of combat duty with his platoon in Afghanistan in May 2007, Captain Tiernan wrote an article detailing the deaths and serious injuries of his friends and colleagues. Tiernan was moved by how survivors escaped the assault in spite of debilitating wounds, saved each other, and prevented further fatalities. These events inspired Harrison and Tiernan to establish the Cycling for Soldiers bike ride fundraiser aimed at helping current and future Grenadiers and soldiers.

"I am so proud of my son's efforts to honor his fellow Grenadiers, and his dedication to helping his colleagues who served in Iraq and Afghanistan is inspiring," said Sheila Harrison, alliance director at Harte-Hanks, Inc. "It is important that people who sleep safely at home are aware of the great sacrifices these men and women continue to make each day. These particular men, who were boys just a few months ago, stand and fight for each other and should make the world extremely proud."

Tiernan and Harrison encourage people to follow their route on the Cycling for Soldiers Website, and come out to support them as they ride through each town and city.

The Colonel's Fund supports the families of those Grenadier Guards killed in operations in Afghanistan as well as those who were injured. Help for Heroes supports Her Majesty's Armed Forces. Objectives of these charities include supporting families of those killed in action by promptly responding to bereavement and hardship problems, supporting those wounded or injured who have had to leave the Army, as well as for prolonged recovery situations.
