Harte-Hanks Taps Pharma Executive Charles R. Struby, Ph.D., to Lead Its Kansas City Direct Marketing Operations

Expertise in Pharmaceuticals to Serve Company's Database, Fulfillment, Rx Sampling and Contact Center Customers

SHAWNEE, KS -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 1, 2005 -- Harte-Hanks, Inc. (NYSE: HHS), a worldwide provider of direct and targeted marketing solutions, has announced the appointment of Charles R. Struby, Ph.D., as a new managing director, direct marketing. Dr. Struby will direct the Shawnee, KS, facility which provides a full range of direct marketing services for multiple industries, among them the pharmaceutical/life sciences sector.

Dr. Struby is a 23-year pharmaceutical executive, having served more than two decades in a variety of management positions at Aventis Pharmaceuticals, and its legacy firms Hoechst Marion Roussel, Marion Merrell Dow and Marion Laboratories. Most recently, he served as a pharmaceutical consultant with The Mattson Jack Group. He initiated his career as a certified public accountant and auditor with KPMG.

"Charles has handled a diverse range of assignments in his career, among them corporate training and leadership development, overseas commercial operations, new product development, business alliances and global licensing," said Tann Tueller, corporate officer and vice president, Harte-Hanks, Inc., who made the announcement. The Harte-Hanks location in Shawnee, KS, serves as a core center for excellence in pharmaceutical marketing for the company, and is a licensed (U.S.) Prescription Drug Marketing Act (PDMA) facility. The facility also supports a variety of other functions -- fulfillment, contact center and data center -- for a range of direct marketing clients.

Dr. Struby is a 1999 recipient of an Excellence in Leadership Award presented by Hoechst Marion Roussel and holds a doctor of philosophy degree in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. He also holds a master of science degree in accounting and finance from Louisiana State University, and a bachelor of science degree in business and accounting from Kansas State University.

His position is effective immediately. Dr. Struby is relocating to the Kansas City area.
