Harte-Hanks Trillium Software Announces Agreement With AIR Worldwide for Improved Geocoding

Trillium Software Helps Insurers and Reinsurers Obtain More Robust Catastrophe Modelling Results

BILLERICA, MA--(Marketwire - Sep 13, 2011) - Trillium Software®, a business of Harte-Hanks, Inc. (NYSE: HHS), and a leading enabler of Total Data Quality solutions, announced today an agreement with AIR Worldwide, the scientific leader and most respected provider of catastrophe risk modelling software, to provide more precise geocoding through the integration of Trillium Software's geospatial capabilities with AIR's catastrophe modelling application.

The integrated software solution is expected to help AIR Worldwide's clients improve risk geocoding and catastrophe risk analyses for perils such as wind, flood, and earthquake outside the United States.

"Data quality and, in particular, accurate geocoding for risks are major contributors to the reliability and understanding of potential losses from perils such as earthquake, cyclones, flood, and terrorism," said Uday Virkud, P.E., executive vice president, AIR Worldwide. "With seamless integration of Trillium Software's precise geocoding capabilities with AIR's products, we will facilitate improved risk assessment and management for our clients."

"We are excited to work with a recognized leader in catastrophe risk management, and this relationship is another example of the value-added business process services we provide to leading organizations such as AIR Worldwide," said Len Dubois, senior vice president, Marketing, Harte-Hanks Trillium Software. "By delivering precise rooftop, street and centroid-level geocoding globally, we can help AIR provide the best and most comprehensive modelling solutions for its clients."

In cooperation with Trillium Software, AIR Worldwide will offer its clients three solutions to provide users with access to high resolution geocoding for more than 70 countries. The solutions include:

  • Client-hosted Trillium Software integrated with CLASIC/2 for rooftop or street level centroid geocoding. This option is suitable for geocoding a portfolio or multiple portfolios.

  • An AIR-hosted web service for clients processing less than 250,000 records per year, incorporating a real-time link to Trillium Software's "On Demand" service.

  • An international geocoding service for consulting engagements that will use Trillium Software geocoding services. This option enables companies to leverage geocoding for their custom AIR consulting projects.

CLASIC/2 is the application of choice for companies that need to accurately assess risk down to the individual location level. CLASIC/2 takes full advantage of the construction, occupancy, age, and height of each structure, as well as location-specific geographical information, such as land use/land cover, elevation, topography, geological information, and insurance policy and reinsurance treaty terms. This translates to better information to support risk selection, underwriting, and pricing decisions.

Trillium Software delivers accurate and consistent location data to a business. With built-in intelligence for global address validation, the software standardizes, validates, and formats address data before assigning corresponding latitude and longitude coordinates, ensuring a broad base of business benefits from having the most accurate location data available. Ease-of-integration into any risk management, CRM, ERP, or any other enterprise application, allows Trillium Software geocoding services to transform raw, inaccurate, and incomplete address information and generate a precise location.
