Harvest Technologies Receives AS9100 Certification

BELTON, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 16, 2007 -- Harvest Technologies Inc., a leading provider of Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing services, has announced that BSI Management Systems has certified Harvest under the AS9100 Quality Management System. Harvest passed its initial assessment with a stellar grade of 93.7, which is well above average.

"We are excited about our recent AS9100 certification. The certification process has been a challenge, but we feel that it has strengthened the quality aspect of our business and given us new insight to how quality systems can be applied to the RP processes," said David K. Leigh, President of Harvest Technologies. "Our company has targeted rapid manufacturing (or digital manufacturing) that the SLS process provides for the manufacturing community. In order for us to be able to supply the industry and lead the way in direct digital manufacturing, we felt that the AS9100 certification was key. This certification has formalized what was already being done in-house and will help our customers and buyers expedite the quality certification process."

The AS9100 Quality Management System is required for suppliers to the aerospace industry and it helps to assure customer satisfaction by having aerospace manufacturers produce world-class quality products at the lowest possible cost. In addition to the requirements listed in the ISO 9001:2000 system, the AS9100 standard has approximately 80 additional requirements and 18 other amplifications of the ISO 9001:2000 standard.

Implementing the AS9100 system is a rigorous process that requires paying close attention to detail. "I don't think anyone is ever quite ready for the scrutiny you receive when going through a formal quality audit similar to what we've done with the AS9100 certification. We have benefited from having the majority of our processes and systems being paperless," concluded Leigh.
