Low-E (low emittance) is a coating that increases a window's ability to reduce heat transfer.

The promotion, which runs from April 13 through June 30, 2009, helps consumers take advantage of substantial tax incentives resulting from the recent federal economic stimulus package. A new bill allows for as much as a 30% tax credit (up to $1500) for consumers buying windows in 2009 and 2010 that meet certain energy-efficiency criteria. With the free performance upgrade, Harvey window purchases will meet or exceed those criteria, affording homeowners savings in both their energy and tax payments. The promotion also enables consumers to choose free, in-glass window grids when they buy the Tribute premium vinyl window with the added high-performance package. With this option, homeowners receive Harvey's top-of-the-line vinyl window -- already eligible for federal tax credit -- and a further enhancement with the addition of grids at no charge.
