Hashrocket Completes Work on New 'Interest-Driven' HI-FI Social Media Network

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, FL--(Marketwired - July 06, 2016) - Hashrocket has recently completed work on HI-FI, The Mobile Lifestyle Network®: a new social media network being launched by Ponte Vedra entrepreneur and HI-FI founder and CEO Winder Hughes.

Hughes, who worked with investors to raise $3 million in seed money to create this first interest-driven social media network for consumers, engaged Hashrocket to improve and enhance the functionality of application prior to launch.

Gabriel Reis and Chase McCarthy, the 'Rocketeer' developers who headed up the project, said Hashrocket was originally brought in to build out the HI-FI Android application -- and later engaged to build its IOS application.

"HI-FI was an exciting project to work on, given that most mobile apps up to this point have focused on following people and friends," said Hashrocket Project Manager Chris Cardello. "With HI-FI, they flipped the idea on its head to create a app that follows topics and interests, a first among mobile apps. It basically represents crowdsource content creation, where the mobile users upload all the content."

The Hashrocket team recently completed enhancements to the user interface and is continuing work on other elements of the HI-FI apps that will be available in the next few months.

"Cluttered newsfeeds, disorganized search results and irrelevant advertisements have made it increasingly difficult for people to connect with relevant content," Hughes said. "HI-FI offers mobile users the opportunity to tune out today's social clutter and connect within a community that shares common affinities and interests. It will give all mobile users a rich place to explore."

HI-FI recently announced the launch of Marketplace -- a new service where publishers, businesses and individuals create and buy their own hashtag sites, called Tagtopics™. Tagtopics are unique community destinations featuring curated news and lifestyle content, organized by category and topic, which flow into a user's newsfeed filtered by their interests.

HI-FI can now be downloaded for free at the iTunes App Store.
