Often in outport Newfoundland it is left to one enterprising family to literally taxi the residents from the cradle to the grave, offering wedding, funeral and ambulance services all under the same roof. The Furey family provides that service to the residents of Cats Gut Cove with side-splittingly funny results.

Shot entirely in Newfoundland, the irreverent series aired last January as a stand-alone pilot episode that garnered audience and critical acclaim including a recent Gemini Award for Walsh for Best Performance in a Comedy and a Gemini nomination for Best Writing in a Comedy or Variety Program or Series. The series stars actor Rick Boland (The Divine Ryans) as Phonse, the Furey family patriarch who is always searching for a bit of liquid courage. Mckinney stars as the neurotic Todd Meaney, the mainlander husband of Myrna Furey; while Majumder stars as Cyril Pippy, the dimwit graveyard digger hired by the Furey Family.

Hatching, Matching & Dispatching also stars a wickedly-funny ensemble cast of up-and-coming actors including, Susan Kent (Violet) in the role of Darlene Furey, the outspoken Furey daughter who also provides the embalming services for the family business; Sherry White (The Bread Maker) plays Myrna Furey, the eldest and always correct daughter; Joel Hynes (Down to the Dirt) plays the cocky, confident and sexually charged Nick Crocker,

boyfriend of Darlene Furey; and Jonny Harris (Young Triffie's Been Made Away With) plays Troy Furey, the prodigal son of the Furey Family.

Additional Canadian talent guest-starring throughout the season include, Sheila McCarthy (Being Julia), Andy Jones (Rare Birds), Cathy Jones (This Hour Has 22 Minutes), Ed MacDonald (This Hour Has 22 Minutes), Bette MacDonald (The Bette Show), Linda Kash (Best in Show), Berni Stapleton (Behind the Red Door), Mary Ellen MacLean (Wilby Wonderful), and Sherry Lee Hunter (Made in Canada).

Hatching, Matching & Dispatching is complemented with a sophisticated Web site,, in which viewers can virtually visit the Furey family website, as if Hatching, Matching & Dispatching were a real company existing outside of a fictional series, and internet travelers are clients. To kick-off the series, viewers will have the opportunity to win $5000.00 towards hosting their next family event such as a wedding, funeral service, or baby shower by describing in 300 words or less how $5000.00 would help them host their next family event. Viewers can enter online or via postcard or letter. The person with the most votes online wins the grand prize.

Hatching, Matching & Dispatching was filmed on location in Petty Harbour and Torbay, Newfoundland.
