Haven's Facebook Fans Create New "Taste of Haven" Ice Cream for Devon Cliffs

HEMEL HEMPSTEAD, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Sept. 11, 2012) - This August Haven took to Facebook to ask "if we were an ice cream what flavour would we be?" The best suggestion would then be whisked up into an ice cream to be sold at our South Beach Café in Devon Cliffs. Haven Facebook fans sent in plenty of ideas for fun flavours that they felt best reflect the Haven brand. From rhubarb and custard to cola with fizzy sherbet there was no limit to their imagination - it was almost too hard to choose!

Other entries included one from Alison Smith who suggested the ice cream should be called "a little bit of Haven". "It would be a little bit of vanilla, strawberry, raspberry ripple and chocolate all together in a scoop. This ice cream would be something for everyone and that's just what haven is" she wrote.

The winning entry was from Lisa Connelly, who chose the flavour "Strawberry Trifle" as a defining taste for Haven. She wrote that she chose the flavour because it is "traditional, British, fun and loved" just like Haven. Otter Valley Dairy Farm wasted no time in turning Lisa's idea into an ice cream for all to enjoy and it is now selling at our park in Devon Cliffs. So forget the standard mint choc chip and scoop up some "Haven flavour" in the South Beach Café on park.

Otter Valley Dairy Farm, located in Blackdown Hills near to our Devon Cliffs park, has been working away to perfect our new ice cream. The farm use the milk from their own herd of cows to create ice creams which have been locally and nationally recognised. Who better to make sure our new ice cream is packed full of flavour? Otter Valley Farm is one of many locally sourced suppliers bringing fresh produce to Haven's South Beach Café every day.

The South Beach Café, overlooking the Jurassic coastline and sandy bay below offers fresh, locally sourced dishes, making it a first of its kind for Haven. Food arrives daily and is sourced from within a 30 mile radius of the park, giving you the real taste of Devon! Menu highlights are the locally caught brown crab, or fresh fish from nearby shores. But whether you're after a three course slap up meal or just a quick coffee, the café has something for you.

The café's driftwood bar and barrel tables give it a real "beach chic" feel. Relax on the tiered deck and watch the sunset, or meander down the newly built path to the beach for a sunset stroll along the sea. Kids can have hours of fun in the beach style playground, close to a sandy area complete with sun loungers where you can lie back and look on.

Devon Cliffs Holiday Park is set on a cliff, with views of the sandy shores below. The surrounding area has plenty of highlights to keep the whole family entertained. World of Country Life next to the park has vintage vehicles, an animal farm and safari deer train for you to enjoy. Just 11 miles away is Crealy Adventure Park, which has lots of activities for tots, teens and adults alike, or why not pay a visit to Dartmouth National park to enjoy the serenity of the English countryside at Haven holiday parks.

You can also make the most of our facilities while on park. Zoom down the flume and make a splash in our indoor pool, and race down the four lane waterslide into our outdoor pool area. Play a round of adventure golf or have a go at bowling, or for adults looking to relax, venture into our luxury spa and treatment rooms.
