Hawaiian Telcom Selects Full Software Suite From Fine Point Technologies to Manage Subscriber Support and Internet Access Services

Seven Figure Deal Will Focus on Installation and Self-Repair Tools That Will Help in Rollout of New Network and Customer Support Initiatives

NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 28, 2006 -- Fine Point Technologies, a leader in broadband network connectivity management, today announced that Hawaiian Telcom has committed to the purchase of software worth in excess of $1 million to help enhance customer support and smooth the transition of users to new network services.

Hawaiian Telcom was launched in 2005 when Verizon Communications (NYSE: VZ) sold Verizon Hawaii, Inc. to a private global investment firm, The Carlyle Group. Hawaiian Telcom offers core services including local phone, long distance, and Internet access as the largest telecommunications carrier in the state. The suite of software solutions purchased from Fine Point will play a key role in Hawaiian Telcom's progression to enhanced service and support programs.

Fine Point's unique end-to-end configuration and management solutions allow Hawaiian Telcom to reduce customer support costs while enhancing the quality of experience (QoE) realized by broadband and dialup customers. Fine Point's solutions were initially deployed in the launch and implementation of Hawaiian Telcom's new high-speed Internet network and e-mail platform. Support from Fine Point included the development of self-installation CDs for new subscribers, and administrative applications to help Hawaiian Telcom's on-island technical support staff better serve customers.

Following the successful launch of Hawaiian Telcom's high speed Internet services Fine Point software has been focused on the acquisition and installation of new dial up and broadband subscribers. In addition, Hawaiian Telcom has also implemented the Fine Point Self Repair Suite to the existing subscriber base of over 80,000 users.
