Health Republic Insurance of New Jersey (HRINJ) Introduces Competitive Premiums and Value-Added Benefits for 2015 Open Enrollment

Small Group and Individual Plans to Include More Out-of-State Options for In-Network Care, No Referrals for Plan Specialists, Free Telemedicine Option, and More

NEWARK, NJ--(Marketwired - Nov 11, 2014) - Health Republic Insurance of New Jersey (HRINJ), the state's only non-profit CO-OP health insurance plan offering individual insurance on and off the Health Insurance Marketplace ( and small group insurance off the Marketplace, introduced new plans for the November 15, 2015 Open Enrollment period that include multi-state access coverage, some of the most competitive rates in the industry, and more options for individuals and small groups in New Jersey.

"Having listened to our members over the past year, we've designed plans that offer some exciting features and attractive pricing that includes reducing our plan premiums between 10% and 20%," says Jim Martin, Chief Executive Officer of Health Republic Insurance Company of New Jersey. "New members will find choices that resonate with their lifestyle and family needs, and value-added benefits that will make it a much more fruitful shopping experience."

Multi-State Access and Choices for all of New Jersey
Beginning January 1, 2015, HRINJ members will have open access to an entire network of in-state and out-of-state providers. In New Jersey, all members will receive care through the QualCare HMO Regional network. For providers beyond the Garden State, members will go through Multiplan's PHCS Healthy Directions Network for treatment by providers in Delaware, eight counties in New York and nine counties in Pennsylvania. No referrals will be required to see any specialist with this year's plans.

The HRINJ plans -- Solid, Prime, Core, and Pure, with levels of platinum, gold, silver and bronze, offer consumers the opportunity to choose from a menu that is compatible with both budget and healthcare usage. This includes many full network access plans in addition to two new plan designs. Residents of Monmouth County can take advantage of a community-based network of providers which offers lower premiums and some plans with $0 co-pays for generic drugs. The Spotlight plan provided throughout the state offers consumers ways to save even more. Martin suggests that customers take the time to examine the co-pays, deductibles and coinsurances involved with the varying plans and not to necessarily make decisions based on premium alone.

"We want our members to get the most bang for their buck, and really look at what they are getting for the cost of their premium," Martin says. "One family may benefit from paying co-pays for office visits, whereas for others paying a lower premium for using the deductible/co-insurance approach make much more sense. Choose the plan that is right for your individual or family situation. We are even re-launching our website to provide those looking for health insurance an improved experience."

New Value-Added Benefits and Wellness Programs
Other benefits new to HRINJ members with this enrollment include Teladoc, a free service that delivers around the clock access to a healthcare provider via a telephone or webchat. HRINJ was the first health insurance company in New Jersey to introduce telemedicine earlier this year. An ExtraCare Health card from CVS/pharmacy provides 20% savings on CVS brand health products. Wellness offerings range from free health coaching and immunizations to a smoking cessation (or harm reduction) program that provides consultations with physicians and medications at zero cost to members. They may continue treatment for as long as it is deemed necessary by a health care provider.
