Healthcare Business Intelligence Usage to Be Explored in 5th Annual Wisdom of Crowds Business Intelligence Market Survey

Dresner Advisory Services' Yearly Assessment of Business Intelligence Deployment and Trends Expanded to Explore the Unique Needs of the Healthcare Industry

ORLANDO, FL--(Marketwired - Feb 24, 2014) - In conjunction with the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society Conference (HIMSS14), Dresner Advisory Services today announced that the 2014 Wisdom of Crowds® Business Intelligence Market Study will explore the unique Business Intelligence (BI) needs of the healthcare industry.

Data collection is underway for the 2014 Wisdom of Crowds Business Intelligence Market Study, an annual examination of the state of the business intelligence (BI) marketplace. BI users in all roles and throughout all industries are invited to contribute their realities, plans, and perceptions of the BI market.

While healthcare BI users have contributed significantly to the past Wisdom of Crowds BI Market Studies, for the first time this year the survey will explore the unique healthcare BI initiatives, priorities, and challenges, and provide a baseline for exploring how these specific healthcare BI needs trend over time.

The report will rank relevant BI vendors and products across metrics covering product, services, sales, and integrity, providing an important tool for organizations seeking to invest in BI solutions.

"We're very excited to expand our annual survey to provide an in-depth look at BI usage and trends within the rapidly changing healthcare industry," said Howard Dresner, founder and chief research officer at Dresner Advisory Services. "Healthcare BI users have contributed significantly to previous surveys, sparking our interest in further exploration of the industry's unique BI needs."

"Healthcare must reinvent itself by realigning industry incentives to promote health and wellness," states Kathryn Whitmore, healthcare industry expert and analytics thought leader working with Dresner Advisory Services. "We must shift from a model based on volumes, treating as many sick patients as possible, to a model of value, helping consumers remain healthy and engaged in their health yet providing them the highest quality of care when needed. Analytics enabled by BI tools is necessary to achieve this industry transformation."

The survey can be found at BIHealthcareSurvey.com and will remain open until March 28, 2014, at 5PM ET. Bona fide participants will receive a complimentary copy of the study findings.

Howard Dresner will use his weekly #BIWisdom Twitter tweet chat, held every Friday at 1PM ET, to begin to share information related to this study. BI users, both IT and business, are invited to participate in the tweet chat to share their experiences first hand.
