HealthPass New York Expands Health Insurance Options for NYC Small Businesses With Addition of Health Republic Insurance of New York


NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Nov 19, 2013) -  HealthPass New York, an independent, not-for-profit, commercial health insurance exchange for small businesses, today announced that it has expanded the number of health benefit options for their New York small employer clients with the addition of Health Republic Insurance of New York. The partnership with Health Republic, a not-for-profit program and New York's only CO-OP -- Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan -- further expands the number of health insurance carrier choices and plan options available through the HealthPass platform. 

HealthPass will offer four Health Republic plans to eligible employers who employ between two (2) and 50 employees. Employees must reside in either New York State or New Jersey to be eligible to enroll in a Health Republic plan.

Under the agreement, small employers and their employees can begin enrolling in Health Republic plans for coverage that would be effective as early as January 1st, 2014. The four health plan options span across all the metal tiers (Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum) and provide a variety of choices of benefit coverage and access to over 70,000 participating providers. An added advantage of Health Republic is the provision of wellness navigators to help employees make the most of their benefits and find community resources. Members will also have access to more than 40 types of alternative care and fitness providers and will receive significant discounts on their services.
