Healthscreen EHR Solution Chosen For Ontario HIV/Aids Research and Treatment Centres

ST. CATHARINES, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 20, 2005) - Healthscreen Solutions Inc. (TSX VENTURE:MDU), today announced the Ontario HIV/AIDS Treatment Network has selected the Company as a strategic partner to deploy HSpractice™, Healthscreen's Electronic Health Records software (EHR) to HIV/AIDS clinics across the province.

There are over 600 physicians treating the disease in Ontario, many of whom are entitled to receive subsidies when moving to an electronic health records system and are being encouraged by the government and insurers to do so.

In collaboration with the OHTN, Healthscreen will provide eligible physicians with a full seamless transition to the HSpractice software. Physicians that participate will be able to contribute data to the research database CRDB -- a new technology that extracts and securely transmits confidential health data with appropriate patient consent. Healthscreen's development efforts and medical software will allow for ongoing research in the OHTN's Cohort Study (OCS).

"We are excited about the formation of this partnership to create information technology solutions that assist the OHTN in achieving its mandate in the fight against AIDS," said Bruce Rosenberg, Healthscreen's CEO. "Our objective is to be a key contributor facilitating the research effort by equipping every participating physician with our powerful EHR platform."

Incorporating the powerful links of technology, customized data research development and a full EHR medical software program broadens the potential scope of Healthscreen's participation beyond the province of Ontario.

HSpractice reduces the time to see and treat patients, increases efficiency in prescription handling and data entry, and links the doctor's diagnosis to one general system accessible by other health professionals that a patient will visit. In addition, clinics supported by HSpractice have saved as much as 20-30% in operational costs with a return on investment showing in as little as twelve months.

Maple Leaf Medical Clinic, University of Western Ontario Centre for Studies in Family Medicine and now the Ontario HIV Treatment Network are high profile Canadian research agencies that spent many months investigating EHR suppliers, selecting Healthscreen from a large list of vendors. This is evidence of the Company's ability to deliver valuable electronic health solutions that helps save lives while making the healthcare industry more efficient and economically viable.
