Hearst Magazines Celebrates Fifth Anniversary of 'Designer Visions: Cinema Style'

Editors-in-Chief of House Beautiful, Town & Country and VERANDA Collaborate With Acclaimed Interior Designers to Create Three Film-Inspired Luxury Living Spaces for the New 1212 Fifth Avenue Residences by Durst Fetner

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Aug 8, 2011) - Hearst Magazines, a unit of Hearst Corporation, has partnered with Durst Fetner, developers of The 1212 Fifth Avenue Residences, to present the fifth annual "Designer Visions" program, a showcase of three apartments created by Hearst titles House Beautiful, Town & Country and VERANDA.

Each apartment uniquely illustrates the design collaboration between the titles and the country's top designers, who draw inspiration from the fashion and flair of a chosen film, while embracing the point of view of each distinctive magazine. This year's "Cinema Style" theme pays homage to films that capture the allure and romance of New York City's Central Park, which is the stunning view from the residences.

The confirmed interior design partners and cinematic themes for each apartment include:

For this anniversary year project, Hearst and Durst Fetner have also aligned with designer S. Russell Groves for kitchen and bath renovations that complement each apartment's cinematic theme, as well as for all of the apartments at 1212 Fifth Avenue, which have undergone a gut renovation that maintains the building's pre-war grandeur while upgrading the fixtures and mechanical system to the cutting-edge 21st century.

After the opening night event of Designer Visions: Cinema Style on October 5, a series of special events will be held in the spaces through the end of the year.

1212 Fifth Avenue, designed by Durst Fetner Residential with interiors by S. Russell Groves, features 55 units, including one-bedroom to five-bedroom apartments. Apartment units range from 800 to 3,600 square feet. The building includes a residents' gym, children's playroom and owner's lounge, as well as access to a swimming pool, health club and parking lot next door at 4 East 102nd Street.

"This is an exciting year of growth for Designer Visions, especially with the variety of events and new partnerships we're creating, as well as with our expanded online components," says Jeanne Noonan Eckholdt, executive director of business development, Hearst Integrated Media. "Plus, for the first time, we're taking our inspiration from films that highlight our location."

"We're thrilled to introduce 1212 Fifth Avenue with this Hearst Magazines project," said Hal Fetner, president and CEO of Durst Fetner Residential. "This is a wonderful opportunity for us to unveil our luxury residences to both the design industry and the New York community."

Presenting sponsors of the program are Kohler, Ralph Lauren Paint and Durst Fetner.

Previous designers of Designer Visions in past years have included Thom Filicia, Richard Mishaan, John Saladino, Celerie Kemble, and Charlotte Moss, among others, at exclusive properties including The Setai Fifth Avenue, The Laurel and Soho Mews.

The completed Designer Visions residences will each be featured editorially in the November 2011 issues of House Beautiful and Town & Country, and the January/February issue of VERANDA. In addition, online and social media components of the project will include behind-the-scenes video, photo flipbooks, sponsor information and resources available at housebeautiful.com, veranda.com, and Town&Country's Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/TownandCountryMagazine).
