HEARTbeats Foundation Renews Pledge to Children of Conflict

Musicians Lynn Harrell and Helen Nightengale Orchestrate a Fundraising Affair

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - March 22, 2011) - Artist ambassadors Lynn Harrell and Helen Nightengale are proud to host an intimate fundraiser for their beloved HEARTbeats Foundation (www.heartbeatsforchildren.org). The cocktails and hors d'ouevres affair will be hosted at a private venue on March 27, 2011 at 5:30pm with proceeds going to impoverished children in areas of conflict.

The HEARTbeats Foundation is dedicated to uplifting the lives of children through the healing power of art and music. By ensuring better emotional development and providing them with an outlet for their hopes, fears, and dreams, the non-profit organization aims to give these children a voice and ensure that they are not forgotten.

In December of 2010, Harrell, Nightengale, and their team of program specialists, artistic bureaucrats, and a documentary crew traveled as far as Katmandu to bring their initiative to young Nepalese children. In collaboration with the Unatti Foundation in Bhaktapur, they established the HEARTbeats Music Center and welcomed scores of children to sing, learn, laugh, and heal. The inaugural trip was a true success; however, continued efforts are needed in the hopes of elevating the children from their tumultuous environment.

Infinitely moved by their experiences in Nepal, the HEARTbeats team seeks to renew its pledge to these children with the help of generous contributions from donors. Musical luminaries, philanthropists, and guests will be treated to a silent auction accompanied by an exclusive cello piece by Harrell, memorable musical acts by Christine Brewer, Randy Kerber, Steve Connell, Sekou Andrews, and Neil Comess-Daniels, as well as a special performance from HEARTbeats' upcoming CD "They Are Why We Sing" by the national award-winning choir from John Burroughs High School in Burbank.
