Heartland Payment Systems® Names California Restaurant Association as Its Partner of the Year

PRINCETON, NJ--(Marketwire - Apr 19, 2012) - Heartland Payment Systems (NYSE: HPY), one of the nation's largest payments processors, has honored the California Restaurant Association (CRA) with its second annual "Partner of the Year" Award. Heartland initiated the award to recognize outstanding partnerships between Heartland and its more than 200 association partners.

"The CRA is an exceptional partner and has been a critical component in helping our organization build longstanding relationships in the California restaurant industry," said Bob Carr, Heartland's chairman and CEO. "We're extremely grateful for our partnership and are proud to serve CRA members by advocating on their behalf, educating them about the costs and complexities of payments processing, and providing best-in-class business tools and solutions."

During Heartland's more than 11 year partnership with the CRA, the company has recruited more than 1,000 members for the CRA. Likewise, the association has shared referrals and facilitated many events and networking opportunities to help Heartland deliver its full suite of business solutions -- including card processing, merchant services, payroll and loyalty marketing -- to restaurants across California.

Additionally, Heartland processes more than $1 billion in volume a year from CRA members using its merchant services solution. Several Heartland employees also currently sit, or have sat, on the board of local CRA chapters while taking an active role in promoting the CRA to the restaurant community, and the company has sponsored numerous scholarships for California restaurant workers.

"The California Restaurant Association is proud to accept Heartland's Partner of the Year Award, as our joint venture with Heartland Payment Systems has proven to be a tremendous benefit to our restaurateurs in providing much needed business solutions in this very competitive industry," said Jot Condie, CRA president and CEO. "I'm positive the ongoing relationship will continue to be extremely beneficial for both organizations."
