Heather Mills Joins Easter Seals to Bring Hope to Individuals With Disabilities

International Advocate for Children With Disabilities Joins Board of Easter Seals New York

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - June 10, 2009) - Heather Mills, who has been helping children with disabilities globally for over 20 years, has been named the "International Advocate for Children with Disabilities" for Easter Seals. Mills has also joined the Board for Easter Seals New York in support of the vital programs and services provided by the organization in the State of New York.

As International Advocate for Children with Disabilities, Mills has demonstrated her commitment to helping underserved communities. She has been a tireless advocate for people who have lost limbs as the result of landmines. She also established the Heather Mills Health Trust, which recycled discarded prosthetic limbs, ultimately helping over 400,000 men, women & children. Most recently, Mills has started helping children in the United States. Mills recently donated over $1 million of vegan food to programs for children in the Bronx of the Hunts Point Alliance to promote a nutritious, healthy diet.

Mills has been recognized for her work to support Easter Seals. Last month, Mills helped present Easter Seals New York's most prestigious Lilli and Allan Shedlin Award to Dr. Kanti Gala and the We Live to Give Foundation at the organization's annual gala, Field of Hopes and Dreams at Yankee Stadium. Mills will also co-chair Easter Seals New York's annual Walk With Me in Battery Park, New York.
