Hedvig Partners With 280blue to Accelerate Product Development

Company Sponsors Strategic Technology Council to Build Relationships with Global IT Leaders; Close Collaboration Allows for Rapid Refinement and Iteration of Go-To-Market

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - January 28, 2016) - 280blue, Inc., today announced that Hedvig, the leader in software-defined storage with a modern, distributed systems approach, is the premiere sponsor of the 280blue Strategic Technology Council (Tech Council). The Tech Council is a global consortium of IT leaders dedicated to shaping the future of technology through influence and dialogue. The Members are technical CIOs or their direct reports -- the IT leaders who make the decisions about the IT architectures and technologies their companies deploy and use.

Working with the Tech Council, Hedvig is able to more rapidly go-to-market by testing product direction, roadmap, pricing and product positioning with technology leaders who represent their core market and potential buyers. In addition, they are able to identify design partners for future releases and potential customers.

If you are interested in joining the Tech Council as a Member or in learning more about sponsoring the Tech Council, please visit www.strategictechcouncil.com.

"Storage is a tough, crowded market. Customers have a lot of choices in how they solve their data growth challenges. It's difficult to find the right messages and product capabilities that will resonate," said Robert Whiteley, Vice President of Marketing at Hedvig. "Buyer feedback is critical to making the right decisions. The 280blue Strategic Technology Council gives us rapid access to technology leaders who can help us answer the difficult questions that need to be answered as we expand our product features and portfolio and make decisions about how to price, position and market our solutions."

Today, Tech Council Members represent innovative companies with revenues from $10M to over $5B in revenue and company sizes from fewer than 50 to more than 10 thousand employees. More than 70% of the members are the leaders of IT for their organizations. The others are CISOs and architects or the VPs and directors of security, operations, networking, and infrastructure. The Tech Council is expected to grow to more than 100 members by mid-Q1 2016 and 250 members by the end of 2016.

The Tech Council offers both technology leaders and product and marketing teams at vendor companies a space to collaborate, network and build relationships. The proprietary Tech Council app acts as a repository for a rich set of information on each member's infrastructure, operational structure and budget priorities, which allows members to benchmark themselves against other members and gain insight on member adoption and satisfaction with particular vendors and architectural approaches.

In addition to one-on-one conversations with other Members and vendors, participating in focus groups and surveys, and testing and evaluating products, Members can attend web-based birds-of-a-feather sessions with innovative technology companies on a monthly basis. January's session featured new security architectures. In early March, we will host a session on container technology.

"We offer early and growth-stage companies the opportunity to engage with the Tech Council in several ways," said Kim Kapustka, managing partner and co-founder at 280blue. "Sponsorships like Hedvig's offer companies continuous and rapid access to a large base of tech leaders who are interested in building relationships with early-stage companies and helping to shape their products. In addition, companies can participate in our Alpha Lab, attend a Go-to-Market Workshop, learn from our Technology Brain Trust or design custom programs, such as surveys and research programs, focus groups, user groups and other events. All of these efforts help companies to build market fit for their products and solid go-to-market strategies."
