CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Jul 20, 2012) - Destination Hotels & Resorts appoints Heidi Edinger, CMP, CASE as the director of sales and marketing for MileNorth™, A Chicago Hotel. Edinger is responsible for strategy, development and implementation of new initiatives to achieve the sales and marketing goals of the newly-branded property, build relationships within the local community and enhance branding and marketing efforts.
The focus at MileNorth is on creating a Chicago-centric brand with excellent service and Midwestern hospitality. The hotel's central location in downtown Chicago is steps from The Magnificent Mile, near numerous attractions and only three miles from the convention center.
As part of Destination Hotels & Resorts' mission to integrate hotels into the destinations where they are located, Edinger and her team will work to develop local partnerships in addition to fostering relationships with the meetings and travel industries, associations and agencies. Her twenty years of experience in the hospitality industry, combined with her vast knowledge of the Midwest market, make Edinger a perfect fit for this role.
Prior to joining MileNorth, Edinger served as regional director of sales and marketing for the Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau, where she developed relationships with association and corporate clients while driving market awareness for the destination. Prior, she served as the director of sales and marketing for The Talbott Hotel in Chicago, where she successfully generated brand awareness and cultivated new relationships for the hotel while serving in a key leadership role.
