Helio Resource Corp.: Fieldwork Commences At Otjimakuru, Namibia

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - June 13, 2005) - Helio Resource Corp. (TSX VENTURE:HRC) ("Helio" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that its partner, Yale Resources Ltd (TSX VENTURE:YLL), has forwarded funds to commence a Phase 1 $150,000 exploration programme on the Otjimakuru gold project, located 150km northwest of Windhoek, Namibia.

This first phase field program will consist of IP geophysics and soil sampling in conjunction with prospecting and geological mapping. Recently analyzed, satellite-generated ASTER images of the Otjimakuru property show localized silica, iron oxide, and hydroxide anomalies in the vicinity of a 4 km by 1.5 km magnetic target in the centre of the property that will be the focus of follow-up work. Gold mineralization at the adjacent Vredelus property is related to magnetite and pyrrhotite.

The exploration target at Otjimakuru is similar to the Navachab and Otjikoto gold deposits. Navachab, located 90 km to the southwest of Otjimakuru, is Namibia's first and only open pit gold mine with a current resource of 137.7 million tonnes grading 1.18 g/t Au for a total of 5.2 million ounces of gold (AnglogoldAshanti 2004 annual report). Otjikoto is located approximately 150 km to the northeast and has a current resource of 25.8 million tonnes grading 1.14 g/t Au for a total of 950,000 ounces of gold (African Rainbow Mining 2004 annual report).

Otjimakuru is located immediately west of Helio's Vredelus property, which has been optioned by Teck Cominco (see the Company's June 2, 2005 news release at www.helioresource.com).

Helio has five of its nine projects under option to four joint venture partners. In addition to work being conducted by Helio on its wholly owned projects, Helio's partners will be spending a minimum of CDN$ 1,400,000 on Helio's projects in the next 12 months.

ON BEHALF OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS,

"Richard D. Williams"
