GLENVIEW, IL--(Marketwire - September 20, 2010) - Thousands of Americans gave it their best giggle, but only one will be featured in a national JELL-O TV commercial. With the U.S. ranking 114 out of 143 countries on the Happy Planet Index*, it was the perfect time for Bill Cosby and JELL-O to go in search of America's best giggle through the Hello JELL-O "Give it a Giggle" Tour. People across the country had the chance to audition their giggle this summer via a mobile recording studio, with one winning giggle to be selected by Mr. Cosby and featured in a national TV spot later this year.

From September 20 through October 1, 2010, people can log onto HelloJelloAudition.com where they can vote for one of the 10 best giggles from across the country, with the top three moving onto the final round where Mr. Cosby will select America's best giggle. The winning giggler will re-record their giggle in a professional recording studio, with guidance from Mr. Cosby himself.

"JELL-O has been bringing happiness to families for more than 100 years," said Cindy Chen, Director of Marketing, JELL-O. "The Hello JELL-O 'Give it a Giggle' Tour has been a great opportunity to spread our message of happiness and smiles all over the nation. After searching the country for the best giggle, we are excited for America to vote, and feature America's best giggle in our JELL-O commercial."

The Hello JELL-O "Give it a Giggle" Tour has been one element of JELL-O's most ambitious campaign in years -- Hello JELL-O -- to once again bring moments of happy to people, everyday, everywhere. Mr. Cosby has been serving behind-the-scenes as an executive producer on the integrated effort. In addition, as the presenting sponsor, JELL-O will bring Mr. Cosby back to weekly broadcasts of his new all-family web show, "OBKB," a series of 10-minute webisodes in which Mr. Cosby interviews children bringing about smiles and giggles. In fact, clips from the show premiered during the Tour to help bring on the giggle to those auditioning.

"For more than 30 years, I've enjoyed helping JELL-O spread smiles," said Bill Cosby. "I'm looking forward to listening to some infectious giggles, as there's nothing better than a great giggle to put a smile on your face."

You can vote for your hometown or personal favorite at HelloJelloAudition.com now through October 1, 2010.
