Hemophilia Foundation of Michigan Awards Four Academic Scholarships

YPSILANTI, MI -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 1, 2007 -- Nearly 500 people gathered at the Bavarian Inn Lodge in Frankenmuth to attend SpringFest™, the Hemophilia Foundation of Michigan's annual consumer education conference. During the conference dinner on April 21, 2007, the HFM Board President, Lauren Shellenberger presented academic scholarship awards to 4 deserving young people. Lauren began the presentation by saying, "It is such a pleasure to give back to those who have given so much of themselves... and it is nice to know that the scholarship awards will help these young people pursue their future endeavors."

Each year, HFM recognizes young people in the Michigan bleeding disorders community for their achievements, both academic and extra-curricular. The recipients of the 2007 HFM Scholarship awards are: Victoria Allen (Williamston), an elementary education major at Hope College and Corey Momont (Oakland), a biochemistry major at Michigan Technical University; the HomeMed Scholarship: Miranda DeKuiper (Ludington), entering Hope College in the fall; The Michael Francis Verb Educational Scholarship: Sam VerWys (Holland), entering Grand Valley State University in the fall.
