Herley Announces Completion of High Performance Millimeter Wave Front End

System Delivered to Major Missile Prime Contractor

LANCASTER, PA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 11, 2006 --Herley Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ: HRLY) announced today that its Herley-CTI facility has completed development of a production prototype of a next generation millimeter wave radar front end. The integrated Ka-band transceiver and frequency synthesizer is expected to be a critical part to a variety of high performance missile seeker, radar and landing system products.

The integrated front end is highly integrated and features include small size, architecture compatibility with continuous wave and pulsed radar and seeker applications enabling the precise tracking of airborne and ground targets. In addition to stationary and moving target detection and tracking, the system is able to implement home-on jam and communication modes.

John Kelley, Herley President, stated, "The completion of this sophisticated high frequency product and its delivery to a major missile system defense contractor as part of a next generation seeker demonstrator, represents a key milestone for Herley. This development reflects the company's commitment to millimeter wave technology and demonstrates a significant step forward in the company's ability to deliver more complex, higher frequency, integrated subsystems and systems. Our ability to have in-house millimeter wave expertise will maximize the impact of the technology across a broad range of Herley products.

"Like the fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq, irregular warfare has become the norm. Loitering UAV's equipped with small, lightweight missiles that are capable of targeting and destroying moving vehicles are expected to receive increasing levels of funding. We expect to participate in this new military environment and increase our value to the customer."
