Hertz Appoints Scott Sider as President, Off-Airport Business

Separate Business Unit to Increase Focus on Fast-Growing Car Rental Segment

PARK RIDGE, NJ--(Marketwire - May 15, 2008) - The Hertz Corporation (NYSE: HTZ) has appointed Scott P. Sider President, Off-Airport Operations. The Company's U.S. off-airport business now generates revenues of almost $1 billion annually at almost 1,700 locations, focusing on insurance replacement, leisure and commercial rentals in urban and suburban markets across the country. Mr. Sider will be headquartered at the Company's corporate offices in Park Ridge, NJ.

Commenting on Mr. Sider's appointment, Mark P. Frissora, Hertz's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer said, "Scott's appointment reflects the rapid, profitable growth of our U.S. off-airport business which has achieved a critical mass. The off-airport business now requires separate, senior-level management to help us drive plans to accelerate profitable growth over the next few years. Scott's success developing a large, profitable off-airport network in Hertz's Western U.S. region, and his proven management capability over a 25-year career at Hertz, make him the right choice to lead our national off-airport business."

Mr. Sider started his career at Hertz as a college intern, and began full-time employment in 1983. He has had a number of increasingly senior management positions in the Company's U.S. car rental operations, including Regional Vice President of the New England and West Central Regions. Since 1998, Scott has served as Regional Vice President of Hertz's Western Region which encompasses California and the other west coast states, and Hawaii. The Western Region currently includes over 400 off-airport locations. Mr. Sider holds a B.S. degree from the University of Kansas.
