HFZ Capital Group Adds to Its Senior Management Team

Rapid Expansion of New Developments Underway at HFZ

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Aug 1, 2012) - Ziel Feldman, Founder & Managing Principal of HFZ Capital Group, noted today that the company has expanded its real estate holdings and development projects at such a rapid rate that a number of new executives have recently been added to HFZ's management team. 

The conversion of 11 East 68th Street, one of the last luxury rental properties on the Upper East Side, the sell-through of remaining units at One Madison Park, jointly owned with the Related Companies, and the conversion of 11 Beach Street in the heart of TriBeCa from commercial to residential with loft style residences are just a few of HFZ's current projects.

The following executives have recently joined HFZ Capital Group in New York City:

Laurie Golub joined HFZ in June as General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer. She was previously General Counsel and Managing Director of Business Affairs at Africa Israel USA. At Africa Israel USA, Ms. Golub played a major role in restructuring the debt related to the company's largest assets including the Times Square Building, the Clock Tower and the Miami Marquis and oversaw the sale of its largest assets including the Times Square Building Office Condo, the Clock Tower and 88 Leonard Street. She also oversaw all retail leasing at the Times Square Building. Prior to joining AFI USA, Ms. Golub served as Associate General Counsel to Forest City Ratner Companies where she played a critical role in all pre-development activities of the $5 billion Atlantic Yards & Brooklyn Arena redevelopment project. She negotiated and closed the acquisition of the New Jersey Nets basketball franchise, provided general counsel services to New Jersey Nets senior management, and led negotiations for the $400 million Barclays Center naming rights transaction.

Anthony Marrone is HFZ's Managing Director of Construction. Formerly a Senior Vice President at Bovis Land Lease, Mr. Marrone has over 28 years of experience managing projects totaling over $1.4 billion in construction costs and over 6 billion square feet. Mr. Marrone's background includes work on commercial, residential, transportation, industrial, educational and public park projects. He also provides HFZ with value engineering expertise. Mr. Marrone is a graduate of Stony Brook University and holds a BS in Engineering. 

MacKenzie Landers is HFZ's new Director of Asset Management & Development. Formerly with the New York City Department of Design & Construction, Ms Landers assisted in the development of the New York Police Academy in College Point, Queens and previously worked at Silverstein Properties. She is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at NYU's Schack Institute of Real Estate from which she earned her Master's degree. At HFZ, MacKenzie will have direct responsibility for key development projects applying her analytical skills and construction management experience as well as overseeing the creative agencies.

Steven Spektor is a Senior Project Manager at HFZ Capital Group and is overseeing the construction of a major residential site on Second Avenue in Manhattan. Steve previously worked for a large New York City contractor overseeing projects ranging from high-end condominiums to rentals and universities. He also worked for Bovis Lend Lease as project manager on several prominent developments. A graduate of Georgetown University, Steve holds an MS in Construction Management from NYU's Schack Institute of Real Estate.

Matthew Arbeit joined HFZ as a Senior Project Manager. Formerly with Bovis Lend Lease, he has over 16 years of experience in hi-rise construction management with projects totaling over $2 billion in value. Mr. Arbeit is experienced in all phases of the construction process including pre-construction, day-to-day operations, cost reporting, and project close out. A graduate of Pratt Institute, he holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree as well as a safety manager's license.
