FULLERTON, CA--(Marketwired - Mar 20, 2014) - Hidden Villa Brands (a division of Hidden Villa Ranch) hosted a gourmet breakfast on Friday, March 7 in conjunction with Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, Calif.
Seventy guests were served a breakfast featuring Hidden Villa Brand's Horizon Organic Eggs, The Country Hen organic eggs and cage-free, non-GMO NestFresh eggs in custom omelets made to order, along with sliced beef tenderloin, smoked salmon, fruit, french toast and pastries.
Attendees of the event included retail, foodservice and manufacturing companies committed to organic and non-GMO production. Also in attendance were members of the trade media and industry partners including The Organic Trade Association (OTA), the Non-GMO Project and Horizon Organic.
A panel presentation moderated by Anthony Zolezzi, founding member of The Organic Center, addressed hot topics within the natural organic industry with special focus on non-GMO production and labeling. Michael Besancon, director of Essential Living Foods and former vice president of purchasing, marketing and distribution at Whole Foods Market; Caroline Kinsman, communications manager for the Non-GMO Project; and Gwendolyn Wyard, regulatory director of organic standards and food safety of The Organic Trade Association, answered questions on issues that audience members said were invaluably relevant.
"We invited key leaders and advocates in the industry to network with our guests," said Michael Sencer, executive vice president of Hidden Villa Ranch. "The event was a huge success and we plan to continue to host these forums for the industry and grow the event next year."
NestFresh cage-free eggs is the first nationally distributed egg line to receive the Non-GMO Project Verified seal from the Non-GMO Project and is the only egg brand to offer liquid and dry egg products that are also Non-GMO Project Verified for retail, food service and manufacturing.
