Join us in kicking off our 2011 summer season at Fort Edmonton Park May 21-23

The fun at Fort Edmonton Park will be historic this year. We have doubled our special event days, and made several weekends even bigger! For the first time ever, we are opening on the Saturday of the May long weekend.

On Saturday morning, join Capital FM radio live from in front of Bill's Confectionery as you enjoy your old fashioned ice cream cone or take part in the WW1 Trench Warfare drill or listen to the ETS Pipe Band rove throughout the Park.

In addition to our excellent assortment of historical public programming of authentic stories and experiences from our interpretive staff, you will be entertained with a wide sampling of entertainment, including:

  • Canadian Folk Singer & Storyteller John Spearn from 11-5pm each day
  • TALES storytelling each day between 11:30 and 1pm.
  • The "Nations of the Commonwealth Parade" at 12 noon Saturday.
  • Capital Brass Band music to greet you on Saturday & Monday from 10am-1pm.
  • Edmonton Swing Band on Sunday from 10am-1pm.
  • Edmonton House Brigade demonstrations from noon to 3pm
  • Live vignettes,
  • Bannock and trade demonstrations
  • Thistle Hills Petting farm at Gyro Park
  • Vintage vehicle display and more.

And on special this weekend, Ernest Brown Historical Photography on 1905 Street is offering 20% off all historical photos. Get dressed up on one of our 100's of period costumes and get a memorable photo of your and your family at Ernest Brown this weekend.
