Inkubus Hits Number 9 at Redbox, as the Most Watched Horror Film

EAST GREENWICH, RI--(Marketwire - Mar 6, 2012) - Verdi Productions and its subsidiary, The Woodhaven Production Company, proudly announce an update on their two feature films, Inkubus and Loosies. Inkubus hit number 9 in Redbox as the most watched horror film for the week ending March 4th, 2012. Loosies will join Inkubus in Redbox on March 13th, 2012. To date both movies have combined DVD sales exceeding of over 100,000 units.

Inkubus, the slasher flick starring horror icon Robert Englund (the original Freddy Krueger), will soon expand to over 100 million homes on VOD through Comcast, Cox and Time Warner in early May 2012. Inkubus premiered in theaters last Halloween to a sell out crowd, hit stores nationwide February 21st, and was simultaneously released to over 80 million homes through NBC Universal VOD. The film sold more than 60 thousand DVDs in its first week alone and reached number 243 on IMDB's International Film Meter: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1650537/.

Inkubus tells the story of a satanic demon that terrorizes the police crew working the final shift at an abandoned Rhode Island police station. The night takes a gruesome turn when the cops quickly become pawns in the demon's brutal crowning achievement of murder, gore, and mayhem. In the end, it is clear: it's Inkubus' world... they only die in it. The film stars Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street), William Forsythe (Halloween, The Devil's Rejects, HBO's Boardwalk Empire), Joey Fatone (My Big Fat Greek Wedding), Jonathan Silverman (Weekend at Bernie's) and Michelle Ray Smith (Salt), and also features many Rhode Island natives on the big screen, including Verdi himself, Tom DeNucci, Tom Paolino and Sera Verdi. The film is directed by Glenn Ciano, produced by Verdi, Noah Kraft and Ciano.

Verdi's second feature, Loosies, released theatrically earlier this year by IFC, tells the story of Bobby (Peter Facinelli), a NYC pickpocket passing as a Wall Street stockbroker who roams the city looking for marks. HE must face reality when an old fling informs him she's pregnant, and the baby is his. Suddenly, two different worlds collide, forcing Bobby to reevaluate a lifetime of missteps, and make a big decision about his future. Loosies stars Peter Facinelli (Twilight, Nurse Jackie, The Scorpion King), Jaimie Alexander (Thor, Rest Stop, Hallowed Ground), Vincent Gallo (Buffalo '66, The Brown Bunny, Tetro), Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2) and Joe Pantoliano (Memento, The Matrix, The Fugitive). Facinelli is the screenwriter and a producer on the film (through his company Facinelli Films), alongside producers Chad A. Verdi, Noah Kraft, and Glenn Ciano. The film was directed by Michael Corrente (American Buffalo), with an original soundtrack composed and performed by American Idol alumni Paul McDonald, an original score by Chad Fischer (Garden State) and music supervision by Michelle Verdi, head of music and talent for both Verdi Productions and the Woodhaven Production Company. Michelle will soon be approving the release of a soundtrack for both Inkubus and Loosies.

"Both films are in the marketplace and selling extremely well," Verdi stated. "We've reached huge numbers in viewership and sales, and we're all very proud," adding, "Inkubus and Loosies are just the beginning for Woodhaven and Verdi Productions. This Halloween we'll be following up with our second horror film, Infected, starring William Forsythe and Michael Madsen who battle zombies to death." The film is currently being re-directed and edited for a release on Halloween 2012.
