Highfive and Dolby Bring Stunning Audio Quality to the Meeting Room and Video Conferencing Experience

SAN FRANCISCO, CA and REDWOOD CITY, CA--(Marketwired - May 4, 2016) - Highfive, provider of the world's most usable in-room video conferencing solution, and Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: DLB), maker of the Dolby® Conference Phone and Dolby Voice®, announced today a collaboration to bring their technologies together and deliver a new meeting-room system offering exceptional quality and simplicity.

This new meeting-room system enhances Highfive's lightweight hardware and unlimited cloud service with premium audio functionality powered by Dolby. By integrating Dolby Voice, every Highfive meeting will benefit from exceptional clarity and crispness. With this combination, Highfive now offers a range of options to meet the unique needs of meeting rooms.

Evernote, a Highfive customer since 2014, is one of the first to try the new offering. "The Highfive solution is magic. By adding in Dolby, the audio is unbelievable -- our team meetings are productive and more enjoyable," said Simon Zhang, IT Lead, Evernote.

"The stunning audio quality of Dolby Voice combined with Highfive's simple and easy-to-use solution replaces noisy conference calls with a complete audio and video experience," said Kevin Yeaman, President and CEO, Dolby Laboratories. "This breakthrough system allows people to communicate and collaborate more effectively."

After launching its product in 2014, Highfive has grown exponentially to more than 1,400 customers, including Mimeo, Evernote, Warby Parker, Rue La La, and Shift. Highfive's collaboration with Dolby will add to its existing offering of simple, beautiful video conferencing with:

  • Stunningly clear audio: Highfive will now embed Dolby Voice audio technology, enabling exceptional sound in every Highfive meeting. Highfive users will experience crisp, clear audio, free from background noise, so everyone can easily hear and understand each person.
  • Exceptional meeting-room audio: Highfive has integrated the audio device from Dolby, the Dolby Conference Phone, into the Highfive solution, providing a premium meeting-room audio experience. The audio device from Dolby picks up all the voices in the room, even at an extended range, and presents them clearly to other attendees as if they are coming from distinct virtual locations. This makes it easier to clearly hear and follow the conversation -- even in large and busy conference rooms. Remote participants feel -- and contribute -- as if they are actually in the room.

"Meeting spaces are powerful places where people, ideas, and actions come together to create amazing things. But bad, clumsy, 1990s technology makes conference rooms frustrating places to do work and ultimately slows us down," said Shan Sinha, CEO and Cofounder, Highfive. "Our simple, elegant hardware and software solution already eliminates many of the traditional challenges of disconnected equipment and complicated user interfaces that come with legacy systems. By integrating Dolby Voice, we're taking the next step to deliver our vision for quality video and audio that truly connects people."
