Highlighting the Connection Between Science and Sport at Resurgo Place

Government of Canada provides support for bilingual, interactive travelling exhibition

MONCTON, NEW BRUNSWICK--(Marketwired - Feb. 19, 2015) - Residents and visitors can enjoy a unique travelling exhibition, "The Perfect Match - Sport vs Science," at Resurgo Place in Moncton, thanks to support from the Government of Canada.

The City of Moncton has received funding of $15,000 from the Museums Assistance Program to present the bilingual, interactive display and to offer educational and public programming to Moncton residents and visitors.

Robert Goguen, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Justice and Member of Parliament (Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe), announced the funding today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

The exhibition demonstrates how science and technology can improve sport performance. Canadian athletes are highlighted through photos and videos, and modern and historical sport-themed artifacts are on display.

Resurgo Place will also offer guided and interpretive tours, workshops, lectures and special events. The exhibition will provide a fun learning experience for Francophone and Anglophone students, as well as sport teams and associations. Visitors of all ages will be able to play interactive games to test their sport knowledge and performance.
