HighTech PR, Inc. Celebrates 10 Years in Business

Launches New Website in Honor of 10th Anniversary; Receives 2009 'Best of Orlando' Award in the Category of Public Relations by the U.S. Commerce Association (USCA)

ORLANDO, FL--(Marketwire - October 23, 2009) - HighTech Public Relations, Inc. (HTPR) announced today it is celebrating its 10th year in business and is launching its new website in honor of this milestone. Recently awarded the 'Best of Orlando Award' in the category of Public Relations by the U.S. Commerce Association, HTPR has enjoyed 10 years giving PR counsel to clients in the cable, telecom, mobile, Internet/Web 2.0, enterprise IT, retail, health & science, green energy and games industries.

"The past 10 years have flown by with lightning speed," said HTPR's President and Founder Tammy Snook. "It seemed like yesterday when I started HTPR, after serving as a VP at Time Warner Cable's Full Service Network, which began the era of interactive television. Now, 10 years later, we're looking at a market delivering HDTV with EBIF & tru2way interactivity, HD VoIP, video conferencing and entertainment on mobile phones for businesses and consumers, and social media and unified communications providers offering rich collaboration capabilities. It will always be an exciting time to be in technology PR because it's always changing." Snook's additional corporate PR experience came from GTE as Director of PR for Fla. and Regional Director-Corporate Communications at MediaOne for a nine-state operation.

"Since starting HTPR, we've been honored to work with a variety of public and private companies, large corporations and emerging technology start-ups. Each has its own unique challenges and rewards," Snook added. "One of my best decisions was to recruit Terry May who brought great experience in agency technology PR."

Terry May joined HighTech PR, Inc. in its early inception as one of the principals of the company. Terry's background is in promoting emerging technologies at one of the world's largest high-tech PR firms, Weber Shandwick, as well as a smaller, boutique PR firm The Neva Group. "My agency background complements Tammy's corporate background very well -- we make a great team for our clients," said Terry May, SVP at HTPR.

"As a customized PR firm, HTPR can offer a very compelling PR program that's uniquely developed and implemented by only experienced technology PR professionals," May added. "That's how we're very different from the larger agencies -- the strategy and the day-to-day tactics are both handled by us."

Since launching in 1999, HighTech PR has worked for a variety of companies, including APPSolute Media, ARRIS Group, Arroyo Video (now part of Cisco), Concurrent Computer Corp., Global IP Solutions, IPDR, N2 Broadband (now TandbergTV, part of Ericsson), Pace Micro Technology, PediaVision, Siemens, Solis Energy, Symmetricom, Tadiran Telecom, Time Warner Cable, TM Forum, and Zodiac Interactive, among many others.
