Hipcricket Strengthens Mobile Advertising and Marketing Intellectual Property Portfolio With Three New Patents

New Patents Support Ability of Brands and Agencies to Deliver Personalized Experiences to Engage Mobile Users

The new patents expand the protection of Hipcricket's advertising and marketing technology platform's unique capabilities to deliver personalized content as users browse mobile web pages.

  • U.S. Patent No. 8,458,294 - System and method for adding targeted content in a Web page: Provides the ability to add content to a web page through interaction between an active web page and a related service employing targeted content delivery. Example: Users can receive personalized web-based messaging and content based on preferences and user behavior, like specific car preferences or favorite cereal.

  • U.S. Patent No. 8,539,043 - System and method for adding targeted content in a Web page: Expands on U.S. Patent No. 8,458,294 allowing brands the ability to seamlessly deliver targeted content specific to a user's interests. Example: By aggregating data across various brands, the technology identifies the user and determines their location and particular interests.

  • U.S. Patent No. 8,606,874 - System and method of binding a client to a server: Supports alternate routing of data in the event the connection is lost, insuring that a user will still be able to receive content on their mobile device without interruption. Example: Increases performance and reliability of Hipcricket's ad serving business by leveraging multiple data centers.
