Hispanic Americans Overwhelmingly Prefer Clinton for President: New Mobile Survey

Florida International University-Adsmovil Poll Gives Trump Less Than 12% of Vote

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - May 4, 2016) - If the U.S. Presidential election were held today, nearly two-thirds of Hispanic Americans would vote for Hillary Clinton, New Latino Voice announced today. Moreover, immigration and the economy are the two most important issues to the Latino American community.

New Latino Voice, a partnership of Florida International University and Adsmovil, the market leader in mobile advertisement for the U.S. Hispanic market, polled more than 10,000 Hispanic Americans in April for their thoughts on the election and the most important issues facing them. Interestingly, Hillary Clinton did slightly better among male Latino Americans -- winning 68.5% of their vote -- than among Latina Americans, winning 57.8% of theirs.

"The Latino American community is just as concerned about immigration and the economy as many of Mr. Trump's voters," said Florida International University Professor Eduardo Gamarra, who supervised the poll. "However, that fact does not make them Trump supporters -- only 11.9% of Hispanic Americans support the businessman. Meanwhile, the fact that Secretary Clinton's support is greater among male than among female Hispanic Americans stands out -- that's different from the overall trend, and suggests that both major candidates may opt for a different strategy to reach Latino Americans."

Professor Gamarra presented the initial results at CampaignTechEast in Washington, D.C. Adsmovil administers the ongoing survey to respondents who visit any one of a number of mobile websites and apps that appeal to Hispanic Americans, such as Univision, Venevision, Terra, and others that receive significant traffic from Hispanic American audiences.

"We're pleased to contribute to this important national discussion by providing an early look at the preferences of Hispanic American voters," said Adsmovil CEO Alberto "Banano" Pardo. "The best place to find this crucial voting bloc is on mobile devices, and that will be even more true as the campaign heats up."
