Hispanic Friends of Israel Launches in Miami to Support Alliance

Kick-Off Event to Be Held November 2nd at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables

MIAMI, FL--(Marketwire - Nov 1, 2011) - A group of leading Hispanic business executives have launched Hispanic Friends of Israel to support and promote the common causes between Hispanics in the U.S. and the state of Israel.

Co-Founder Rafael Diaz-Balart said, "Never has a cause needed more support and solidarity than defending the interest of the state of Israel. The basic tenets of freedom, democracy, rule of law and free enterprise are at stake, not just for Israel but for Western civilization as a whole. By gathering Hispanics from all walks of life, we seek to create awareness and stand in unity with the people of Israel to protect and bolster the principles that bind us as a civilization."

The kick-off event will be held on Wednesday, November 2nd at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, FL. The key-note speaker of the event will be former Ambassador Yoram Ettinger.

Yoram Ettinger is an independent analyst on U.S. - Israel relations, focusing on U.S. investment in Israel and on Israel's relations with the United States Congress. In addition, he is a consultant on policy planning to the Minister for Internal Security and is the author and publisher of Jerusalem Cloakroom, a newsletter on national security and US investment in Israel.

He is a lecturer on US politics for the Hebrew University Executive MBA Program. A former Minister for Congressional Affairs at Israel's Embassy in Washington, DC, Mr. Ettinger also served in Houston as Israel's Consul General to the Southwestern States, furthering ties with politicians, businessmen, oilmen, ranchers, Hispanics, Blacks, Evangelical leaders and Jewish communities in Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and New Mexico.

In addition to Rafael Diaz-Balart, CEO of Miami-based Vestec, Eduardo Sarasola, CEO of Q-PAX Travel Services, and Robert J (Bob) Rodriguez, Chairman of NatCom Marketing, are spearheading the launch of the Miami-based organization.
