Historic Estate in America's Heartland to Be Auctioned by Williams & Williams

Live Global Auction Scheduled for June 20 at Noon CDT

TULSA, OK--(Marketwire - Jun 6, 2012) - The Grisso Mansion, a landmark estate in Seminole, Oklahoma, will be auctioned on Wednesday, June 20 at noon CDT by Williams & Williams, the premier brand in real estate auction. The museum quality estate, built in 1928, is on the National Register of Historic Places and features a main home with 26 rooms, a carriage house, six-car garage and sits on 11+/- acres. Bidding will open at $100,000 and interested buyers can bid on-site or in real time remotely at auctionnetwork.com.

Exquisitely designed and constructed, the Italian Renaissance mansion features European fountains, intricate tile and woodwork, original light fixtures and old world design throughout on ceilings, railings, balconies and moldings and doors. Each of the eight gas fireplaces is a true work of art. The home is situated about 65 miles southeast of Oklahoma City and rests on a gently rising hill overlooking the central Oklahoma prairie.

The Grisso Mansion's beautifully landscaped grounds include a 1+/- acre vineyard, two lighted tennis courts, one which also serves as a full-size basketball court, a large swimming pool with a cabana and barbeque area, original reflecting pool, gardens and open land areas. A remodeled tennis clubhouse has been used as a pool house and wine tasting room for entertaining.

"The Grisso Mansion is a breathtakingly beautiful residence that has been lovingly restored and maintained to reflect the era in which it was built," said DC Roberts, Williams & Williams' Senior Director of Distinctive & International Sales. "This estate offers a one-of-a-kind living experience, both historically and architecturally."

This historic estate has been privately owned since oilman W.E. "Doc" Grisso built it for his wife Maggie. The Grisso family occupied the home for nearly 50 years. Subsequent owners have introduced modern day improvements while keeping the integrity of the original mansion intact. An extensive collection of the historical photographs along with the original blueprints of the property will convey to the new owner.

The Grisso Mansion is one of several high profile auctions for Williams & Williams in June. The global firm is also auctioning a luxurious 10,000 +/- sf Tuscan villa in Barga, Italy on June 20 at 10am CDT. Williams & Williams most recently auctioned "The Nation's Smallest Town" in Buford, Wyoming which sold for $900,000.
